Cool Tech, but Does it Work?

PathoScan has been tested by producers in real-world conditions. Here is what they found.

Agronomists Using PathoScan Found it Followed their Standard Lab-Based Pathogen Test.

In 2026, four agronomy firms tested 13 canola fields with PathoScan for Sclerotinia and compared the results to lab qPCR, using Quantum Genetix for 7 fields and PathoScan's own lab for 6.* Fields with 2 or more positives out of 8 samples were at or above the lab's spray threshold. PathoScan flagged every field that needed a spray (100% sensitivity) and correctly cleared 83% of fields that didn't (83% specificity).

*Quantum Genetix samples were also run on PathoScan's qPCR to check agreement between the two labs, as tested on the left. This is shown as the error bars in the qPCR measurements on the Quantum axis.
